Wherever You Go, Go With All Your Heart
In 2005, my little brother, Josh, and I were placed in foster care. My mother relinquished her parental rights shortly thereafter and now lives in Texas. She has struggled with alcoholism for many years and even though I no longer speak to her, I do still love her.
Josh was adopted in 2010 and he now lives in a small town in New York. Since I was older, I was never adopted and I moved to Georgia in 2009 to attend college.

I tell my story to inform, to inspire, and to show other foster children that they’re not alone.
Hey everyone!
My apologies for falling off the blogging bandwagon recently – things have been absolutely crazy lately and I’m just beginning to get in the swing of things. I promise to post a great recap of all my Coca-Cola/moving to Atlanta excitement this evening when I get home! Let’s just say the entire experience has been unbelievable so far and I can only imagine the surprises the summer will bring. :)
My grades for the semester were posted last night (finally) and even though I’m super happy about how well I did, I was so close to a perfect 4.0 semester that I can’t help but be a little disappointed. I’ve been striving for all A’s for the past year and as you can see, I keep barely missing my goal! Fall 2012 will be the one, I can feel it!

So honored to be named #PRSSA@UGA member of the year!! #UGA #PRSSA (Taken with instagram)
As is true with finals time every semester, I’ve been slacking when it comes to keeping up with my blog. Hold in there everyone, I’ll have some juicy updates soon!!
EVERYONE COME! :D Here is the information in the form of a post. Like it, reblog it, make love to it, whatever — just get involved!
SO EXCITE!

Whoa lady, settle down….it’s the 3rd day of class.

For the past three years, 16 PRSSA students at UGA have been selected to go on a Public Relations agency tour in Washington, DC - and I was selected!!
I’ve been planning a CASA fundraiser luncheon for over a month and even though all the details are finalized, I’m still a bit nervous about how everything is going to turn out. I tend to have extraordinarily high expectations for things like this (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing), but I feel like I’m the only one that truly wants the event to be a success.
For instance, I stopped by the CASA office the other day to drop off the event tickets and what was one of the first questions they asked me? – “What if we don’t sell all of the tickets?” I know that’s an important concern to raise, but the way it was asked made me feel like they’re already planning to come up short. I just got so personally invested into this event and the last thing I want is for it to be a complete failure…
Here are the event details:

*We will also be raffling off over $200 in gift certificates for local restaurants!*
So Athenians, if you are interested in attending the CASA Sweetheart Luncheon on February 4th, please contact me at rebeka.geer@gmail.com
when you see you got an A- in one of your classes which means you don’t get a 4.0 that semester.

Cross your fingers that I make it through finals alive!!
Tomorrow kicks off finals week so in a last ditch effort to hold onto my sanity, I’m cutting study-time short tonight (is it sad bad that 1am is considered a “short” cut-off time?) I got a new book and although it’s not the most optimistic of pre-finals literature choices, I’ve heard such great reviews so I had to get it!:

So here’s to taking a bubble bath and curling up in my cozy bed with a new book. Tomorrow - shit gets real.
